Stop smoking interventions and services: 2018 NICE guidelines

Despite the continued decline in the prevalence of smoking among adults in England, smoking remains this country's primary cause of preventable illness and premature death. Encouraging patients to stop smoking is therefore a vital task for all healthcare professionals. This article provides an overview of the 2018 National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines regarding interventions and services that have been designed to facilitate smoking cessation in patients.
